Orchiectomy

Orchiectomy is a procedure in which the tests are removed. This alleviates genital dysphoria in some patients and eliminates the need for androgen (testosterone) suppression. This can also optimize the effects of estrogen. The procedure is performed through a 3-cm incision along the scrotum and patients go home the same day of surgery. Having this surgery does not interfere with the possibility of having a vaginoplasty in the future.
